Penelope Boston says there might be life on Mars

http://www.ted.com/talks/penelope_boston.html

Penelope Boston talked about the potability of life on Mars and how they are currently exploring areas on Earth to aid in finding life on Mars. Through the exploration of caves and examining life in extreme conditions they can get a better idea of what and how to look for life on other planets.

I previously had no idea how scientist would look for life on other planets. I just sort of assumed that we would be just have something with a camera and try to video tape proof. It never occurred to me that the life they could be looking for could be bacteria and we could research on Earth how to find life on other planets.
